\x0aMicrosoft Store Mimics, and Enhances, the Apple Store Experience
\x0aThis tidbit about the (creepy) Microsoft Stores is interesting. Microsoft’s direct entry into retail is already going to strain a lot of their existing retail and OEM relationships. This is only going to exacerbate the problem. And it sends a terrible message to people: “Our PCs are great, but not the way all of our OEM partners sell them.”

\x0aItalicized: immutable truth.
\x0aThe biggest problem Microsoft has is a bunch of brand-destroying trial software and garbage tacked-on brand experiences from the likes of HP and Dell. Eliminating those and rendering the operating system as originally intended - free of this garbage - is exactly what Microsoft needs to do. If their OEM partners hate it, I don’t think it matters, because that just creates a huge business opportunity for Microsoft to be a class leader in the hardware space.
